Donald Trump fetes Tiger Woods with Presidential Medal of Freedom

Washington, DC, United States (4E) - Donald Trump feted Tiger Woods with the Presidential Medal of Freedom Monday, just weeks after the superstar golfer's win at the Masters Tournament.

Vice president Mike Pence; Tiger's mother, Kultida Woods; his son, Charlie; his daughter, Sam; his girlfriend, Erica Herman; and his caddie, Joe LaCava were among those who attended.

"We can't wait to see what's next Tiger," said Trump. who listed Woods' accomplishments and much of his bio as well. "There are no winners like you."

Woods, who has overcome personal difficulties and physical ailments to rise to No. 6 in the world in golf, got emotional in response to the ceremony.

"This has been an unbelievable experience," said Woods, winner of 15 majors, who was visibly choked up.

Jack Nicklaus, the all-time leader with 18 majors titles, tweeted about the event.

"Heartfelt congrats to @TigerWoods on receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom this evening! His impact on golf and his ability to inspire others to play this great game is on par with his incredible talent!"
